Connecting to WiFi

Before connecting your Crown to WiFI:

  1. Claim your Crown with the Neurosity App

  2. Charge and turn on your Crown

Crown's status LED will be solid blue when the device cannot connect to a known WiFi network and/or needs to be added to a WiFi network for the first time.

We recommend keeping your Crown plugged into the supplied power adapter throughout this entire guide.

Add to WiFi with Neurosity App

If you followed the guide on How to Claim a Crown, you'll need to add your device to your WiFI network if the device is not online already.

Select Setup Wi-Fi to begin. If the Crown is not powered on, you'll need to wait till the Crown powers up. This process uses Bluetooth to send credentials for the WiFi network you want the Crown to join. If you are not connected to Bluetooth, you'll see this screen. Note that this means that the device is not powered on or has an OS issue booting up fully. Reach out to [email protected] if that's the case.

In normally operation, after pressing Setup Wi-Fi, you'll be taken to the Wi-Fi Settings page, where the Crown automatically shows networks within its range. A scan will occur first, so give it a few seconds to search, the Crown will keep searching to discover networks. If you don't see your network, give the Crown a few more seconds to search for the WiFi network.

Tap the WiFi network you'd like to connect to, here I'm tapping "Founders Members."

On the next page, enter your WiFi credentials.

The Crown will begin attempting to connect the network, give the Crown 10-15 seconds the first time it's connecting to a network.

If the WiFi network is restricting the Crown, you'll see a warning like this:

WiFi networks can show this for a few seconds before granting access to the Crown, so only once this message persists for a minute does that mean the WiFi network is not granting access to the Crown.

Managing WiFi Settings

To reset, forget, or manage WiFi in the future, select the WiFi icon on the top status bar to be taken to the WiFi settings page.
